Person-Centred Therapy: The Leading Edge
A Masterclass with Professor Dave Mearns

Dave Mearns is Professor of Counselling and Director of the Counselling Unit at University of Strathclyde, as well as a best selling author and a Fellow of the BACP.
In 2001, Dave presented his newest work on person-centred therapy practice and theory in a Masterclass tour with CSCT Events. This June he will re-present the material with two Masterclasses in Durham and London.
The event will describe the experience of ‘Working at relational depth’ in person-centred therapy and illustrate the developing theory of self ‘configurations’. The lecture will also incorporate new case material from a 2004 book Dave is co-writing with Mick Cooper on ‘relational depth’. Arguably this work represents a ‘leading edge’ for person-centred therapy and the first major revision of Carl Rogers’ initial theory. As such, it offers significant opportunity for experienced person-centred therapists to update their knowledge of the approach and students to get ahead of their tutors!
